Sean McColl


A native of North Vancouver, BC, Sean McColl has been climbing competitively for 17 years. Finding early success, Sean captured the Canadian Youth National Championship every year from 1999-2005, and claimed 5 World Youth Championships, a feat still unmatched today.

Currently living and training in France, Sean continues to add results to his name. With 3 Overall World Championships (2009, 2012, 2014), 4 World Cup Victories and 8 Open Canadian National Championships, Sean has started taking his climbing into the spotlight. In 2014, Sean became a household name as he brought Team Europe to victory over Team USA on the television show, American Ninja Warrior. As an outdoor climber, Sean continues to push himself to explore some of the hardest climbs in the world. Having onsighted 5.14a (8b+) and climbed multiple 5.14d’s (9a), including a second ascent of Dreamcatcher (after Chris Sharma). Sean is also one of only a dozen climbers in the world to flash the grade of V13 (8B) and redpoint V15 (8C).
